Come one, come all in.
Come one, come all sin.
Chlorine in my throat with a gun in my hand,
it’s barbed wire and pain.
Again and again.
An irreparable fright is a terrible fate for the lot.
For the lot.
I thank the Lord for the lot.
Are we children outside?
Are the children outside?
Is there original sin, when the gods have all died?
There’s this lingering ache.
I've been feeling the changes.
The orangish glow makes the strangers feel strange.
It's a lot.
It’s a lot.
It’s been a lot, for the lot.
With my feet on the ground,
and my head in the cloud,
it’s enough to get by when the wires are down.
I've been sharpening stakes,
and sealing the ways.
The furious nights
turn to curious days.
It's like lightning.
It's like lightning.
It's not like me to be this frightening.
It's been a lot, for the lot.
I thank the Lord for the lot.

This is a very strong sophomore record - No sophomore slump here. This shows Gudasz' growth as a songwriter. She's branching out in different directions musically with some very cool production work. Some of the songs are even better than those from Oleander, her debut LP. While some of those sounds/textures are still present here, this record has some more challenging (and rewarding) results. For fans of Leonard Cohen, Sharon Van Etten, Aimee Mann and Joni Mitchell. travm0
Working with her friend and co-producer Nick Sanborn (of Sylvan Esso), Wasner crafts a unique, atmospheric sound, combining electro-pop synths, guitars, and wind instruments, while tastefully altering and layering her own resonant vocals. jmand300
