In theory there stands
this tower of stone.
We could stay here
or make our own tower.
When my rhythms get stuck
Well at least I got style
When you saying that name
You know I’m not required to answer.
It’s got me feeling left out
but at least I got style.
When I’m saying your name
you know, you’re not required to answer.
I’ve been open,
for so long, I forgot how to feel
new vibrations
and how to pick up all the parts it left of me.
Let it into your star,
let it carry you home.
You put it in the way
of everything that you had meant to say.
You let it overtake you.
It’s got me feeling left out.
Would you follow me home?
When they saying that name,
you know, I’m not required to answer.
I’ve been open,
for so long, I forgot how to feel
new vibrations
and how to pick up all the parts you left of me.

This is a very strong sophomore record - No sophomore slump here. This shows Gudasz' growth as a songwriter. She's branching out in different directions musically with some very cool production work. Some of the songs are even better than those from Oleander, her debut LP. While some of those sounds/textures are still present here, this record has some more challenging (and rewarding) results. For fans of Leonard Cohen, Sharon Van Etten, Aimee Mann and Joni Mitchell. travm0

Working with her friend and co-producer Nick Sanborn (of Sylvan Esso), Wasner crafts a unique, atmospheric sound, combining electro-pop synths, guitars, and wind instruments, while tastefully altering and layering her own resonant vocals. jmand300
