I’m a fool to carry
all the weight you’ve left behind.
Well they say be wary.
I’m the gun and you're the night.
When I'm feeling lonely
you’re always on my mind.
Don't get roly poly,
cuz it feels like the hundredth time
we've said goodbye.
Would you stay for breakfast?
I could give you honeycombs and eggs.
We could lay as lovers,
and play like more than friends
again.
Pardon me I’m thirsty
for some drink I can't recall.
Oh yes,
you're the one to quench it,
but its always what you want
Oh yeah,
with your wicked fingers,
and your ghosts lips breathing down my neck.
We could sing the chorus.
but I don't know how it ends.
Oh yeah.
“Here we are again”
With your wicked fingers,
and your ghost lips breathing down my neck.
We could sing the chorus,
but I don’t know how it ends.
Oh yeah.
“Here we are again.”

This is a very strong sophomore record - No sophomore slump here. This shows Gudasz' growth as a songwriter. She's branching out in different directions musically with some very cool production work. Some of the songs are even better than those from Oleander, her debut LP. While some of those sounds/textures are still present here, this record has some more challenging (and rewarding) results. For fans of Leonard Cohen, Sharon Van Etten, Aimee Mann and Joni Mitchell. travm0

Working with her friend and co-producer Nick Sanborn (of Sylvan Esso), Wasner crafts a unique, atmospheric sound, combining electro-pop synths, guitars, and wind instruments, while tastefully altering and layering her own resonant vocals. jmand300
